Hey!
The first two weeks of school have finished. We hope you're all enjoying your time at RMIT's Games Programme this year. We welcome all the first year students to the programme (looking forward to everyone's work) and expect the second and third year students to help and guide the little ones. Feel free to invite your fellow RMIT Games students to the club. I'll see if we can put up a dA poster somewhere in the Games Lab (but we need someone to design one!). Looking forward to all the great projects. Happy gaming!

:: Project: Design the Club Poster ::
The club is in search of an appealing poster that will represent us here on dA.
Can I Design It?
As long as you are listed as a member on this journal.
*You can submit more than one design.
What Do I Need to Include?
- The title 'RMIT Games Students dA Club' Or a similar variation.
- The club link http://rmitgames.deviantart.com
- The words 'Send a note to join'
You may want to include:
- An encouraging statement ie 'Meet new friends, help each other with home work and give artwork support'
- An eye catching design
- The current students' thumbnails
I'm done, how do I submit?
Submit the image to this club by sending a note. You can also ask for the design not to be displayed in this club.
Whose poster will win/be used?
There may not be just one poster. The winner(s) will be printed out and stuck on the walls around the GS labs. The winner(s) will also be announced in this journal.
I need more help :'(
Send a note to this club for assistance.

I'm pretty sure there's other dA users in our classes.

I have an interview with RMIT in two weeks, I'll be doing a TAFE course (Adv. Dip. of Multimedia) and either a Digital Art or Games Graphics Design course after that.
I hope I can get in ^^
I've already been to Victoria University's "Adv. Dip. of Multimedia: Games Development" course interview, and they've said they'd be more than happy to give me a place... but I'd prefer RMIT if they accept me ^^
So do you guys have any suggestions for a RMIT games course candidate?
Cheers!

Bring your best VCE design works that you have done this year and possibly last year. If it is too big to carry around, take some photos of it as documentation.
With your old work from earlier on from this year and last year, take them out before the interview and have a good look at them to try and remember as much as possible of what you were doing at the time when you were working on it.
Also bring the your planning process works as well, that would be one of the main things that they would be looking at. It is important that you are able to prove to them that you know how to research and plan your ideas because in Uni, research and planning of the assignment takes up 60% of the mark (in a lot of cases).
Also bring some sketch books just as an added bonus to impress them even more.
I am sure you would go fine, because I did precisely the same thing last year, and to be honest, they are very interested in what people are showing them in the interviews.
Take a deep breath, and just hope that your work really impresses them.
Cheers, Planks.
PS: My grammar might not be perfect in this post because it is currently 3.30am and I need some sleep!
